Ashleigh is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) student at Athabasca University. Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, she has proudly called Drumheller home since finishing her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Calgary in 2018. She also completed the Registered Nurse Prescribing Program via Athabasca University in 2020. Ashleigh brings diverse nursing experience into her new role, including work as a charge nurse for Drumheller’s medical-surgical, emergency, and labour and delivery units, as well as additional roles in academia, critical care transport, corrections, and community health. As a future NP, Ashleigh is passionate about educating and empowering patients and their families through evidenced-based health teaching, with a strong focus on health promotion and disease prevention. She is excited to be completing her practicum at Riverside Medical and is looking forward to contributing to the health and well-being of the community she is grateful to call home.
